DEBERTOLIS AND FOJTIK WIN THE CAPE EPIC MASTER

Massimo Debertolis and Ondrej Fojtik have completed their triumphal ride to the Absa Cape Epic 2018 title and have set themselves up in the general masters classification of the prestigious mountain bike stage race in South Africa.

 

The two Wilier - Force - 7C bikers on the new 110FX mountain bike, won five of the eight stages scheduled, managing the advantage gained ahead the final day, finishing second yesterday.

 

In the final general classification, the duo of Wilier - Force - 7C has clearly established with a total time of 28h10'55 ", with Brentjens - Azevedo second at 11'34" and the australians Clarke - Adams third at 17'56 ".

 

"In the last stage we managed the situation, trying not to risk anything along the last descent - explains Debertolis, understandably satisfied - As a team, sorry for the misfortune that targeted Johnny Cattaneo, forced to retire in mid-week due of a bad fall. We console ourselves with this victory in the master category, which is still prestigious given the level of the race and the value of the rivals. We knew that success was within our reach, but as expected, we had to suffer until the end. This is why the victory is doubly beautiful ".
