The Équipe Cycliste Française des Jeux was born at the start of the 1997 season, thanks to the passion of the newly retired cyclists Marc and Yvon Madiot. The arrival of Groupama as the new title sponsor in 2018 marked a turning point in the team's history. The collaboration of these two giants of French sport gave rise to the Groupama - FDJ Cycling Team.
In 27 years, the French team has won more than 500 victories, including 14 French national jerseys, 3 Monument Classics, and 38 Grand Tour stages, growing steadily to become one of the most competitive teams on the international cycling scene.
The Groupama - FDJ Cycling Team is thus preparing to face the 2025 season with a renewed team, focusing on a mixture of experienced cyclists and young talents. All eyes are on David Gaudu, whose brilliant results in 2024 make him one of the leading figures this season. His greatest goal is the Giro d'Italia, where he will be aiming for the podium in the overall ranking, challenging the greatest climbers in the world.
At just 22, Romain Grégoire has already established himself as a strong prospect in this sport, with excellent finishes in the classic cycling races and a victory at the 2024 Tour of the Basque Country.
Stefan Küng will be the man to beat in the time trials and in the great classics of the North, along the legendary Paris-Roubaix. Valentin Madouas will continue to be a strong contender in the classics, while Guillaume Martin and Rémi Cavagna, newcomers to the roster, will be chasing stages intending to leave their mark, especially in the Grand Tours, and offering new team strategies.
